The National Dialogue Network (NDN) is a nonprofit organization focused on fostering discussion and conversation on critical societal issues. Their mission is to create a platform where diverse voices can engage in meaningful dialogue, enhancing understanding and collaboration across different communities.
Challenges
The NDN faced several challenges with their existing website:
- Outdated Website Design: The original website was a one-page site with minimal content, lacking visual appeal and not reflecting the organization’s mission.
- Content Management: NDN had a large blog but no effective way to organize and reference key topics, making it difficult for users to find and engage with content.
- Branding: The website did not incorporate NDN’s unique brand colors cohesively, necessitating a stronger visual identity.
Solution
To address these challenges, we implemented a comprehensive modernization strategy:
- Website Redesign: We implemented a complete redesign using WordPress and the Divi theme. This involved creating a visually appealing and user-friendly layout that reflects NDN’s mission and values. The new design includes a modern and clean interface, easy navigation, and responsive elements to ensure accessibility across various devices. We expanded the site from one page to four, allowing for a more comprehensive presentation of NDN’s content and resources.
- Content Organization: To address the content management challenges, we developed a dedicated page for key blog topics. This restructuring allows for easier navigation and ensures that users can quickly find and reference important discussions. We enhanced the blog section by categorizing posts under specific topics, providing tags and search functionalities. This organization not only improves user engagement but also helps NDN highlight important issues and foster deeper conversations.
- Brand Integration: We incorporated NDN’s unique brand colors into the website design, using these colors consistently across various elements such as headers, footers, buttons, and background sections ensuring a cohesive and professional look that aligns with their identity. This visual coherence enhances the overall user experience and reinforces NDN’s brand presence further strengthening their visual identity.
Results
The website redesign transformed the National Dialogue Network’s online presence from a single-page site with limited content to a comprehensive, four-page platform that effectively showcases their mission and facilitates engagement. The new design, powered by WordPress and Divi, offers a user-friendly experience with easy navigation and a visually appealing layout. The incorporation of NDN’s brand colors has established a cohesive and professional look, enhancing the organization’s visual identity. By organizing the blog content into dedicated topics, we have significantly improved the accessibility and engagement of their discussions. This redesign not only supports NDN’s goal of fostering meaningful dialogue but also provides a strong foundation for future growth and outreach.
